Social media sites have increasingly given the users the ability to choose not to see “sensitive” or “mature” content from appearing in their news feeds. It is up to us, the users, whether we want footage of people fighting in streets and photographs of barely dressed individuals to appear in our news feeds. The good news is that you may limit the amount of this type of content that is shown to you.

"Sensitive content" typically refers to posts that users or viewers might find offensive, such as those that involve self-harm, violence, surgery, or sexually explicit content. You have the option to view such an image or video, to your cost, by clicking, or you can choose not to.

The good news is that multiple websites recognize that not all videos or images are suitable to your interests and that some may be inappropriate, particularly for young users. Facebook is an example of that. Facebook is a great social network for interacting with friends and even just for entertainment, but the issue arises when an excessive amount of videos and photos, particularly offensive ones, end up on our Facebook page. Because of this, Facebook offers a feature that enables users to block a specific video or, in serious circumstances, report it

How to Report an individual’s post in Facebook?

1. Select the menu (...) button in the upper right corner

2. Select “Find support or report post”

3. Select any categories that the post contains that go against Community Standards

4. Select “Next” to submit.

When content is reported, it is sent to Facebook personnel who will analyze it and decide whether or not it violates community standards. Up until it is decided that the content violates the Community Standards, it will still be accessible to everyone. The length of this evaluation procedure can range from a few days to weeks.

In conclusion, sensitive content is anything that causes trauma, anxiety, or incites hatred toward a certain group. More users now spend a lot of time on social networking sites, which increases the importance of sensitive media in our lives. Generally speaking, the best way to stop the spread of such content is to refrain from sharing it yourself and then inform others about its negative impacts.
